Ragtime is a music that was always able to convey the spirit of an exciting new time in the course of their now well-hundred year history. It was towards the end of the century before last, as colored musicians like Scott Joplin, among others, triggered the mad enthusiasm of the "ragtime craze".
Although the Ragtimes are composed for piano, they are well suited for machining: the melodic upper voice is assigned to the violin, the metric and chordal foundation the piano.
The rhythmic subtleties of the tunes make the violin part more difficult than the accompaniment of the piano.
