Foreword
Johann Sebastian Bachs "two-part inventions" and "three-part symphonies" still form the foundation of musical education on the piano today.

The available edits are also designed to grant woodwind players access to these practice pieces. As in the original version, the dynamic specifications and reference to phrasing and articulation is missing. During practice, these should be "invented" by the players themselves and tested by the teacher.

Our suggestions on some pieces can be recognized by square brackets and perforated slurs. These should only be regarded as suggestions. It is important to find a uniform, playable momentum for all musicians at all times.
After practical consideration regarding the execution of the ornaments, we have avoided those characters, which, although obvious to pianists, would have to be painstakingly "translated" for the strings and wind instruments.
